Night of Bush Capturing

Night Of Bush Capturing

Yesterday I was reading SMH online and came across an article on a War on Terror board game. ( SMH Article )

What was most interesting though was the mention of a computer game called Night of Bush Capturing. It is a first person shooter where you infiltrate an American base, kill lots of soldiers and finish up with a gun battle versus the man himself George W Bush in the final level. It was released by The Global Islamic Media Front.

Now a quick Google on this game comes up with lots of outraged commentary. People are very upset about this game. They are claiming it is spreading terrorism, calling for it to be banned, etc. A lot of people can’t believe this can be allowed it is an absolute disgrace!

A bit more digging though and you find out that the game is a simple mod of a 2003 game called “Quest for Saddam” it is in fact almost the same game with the propaganda reversed. They didn’t even change much. They just changed the textures of the enemies from Iraqis to Americans put in some Jihadist music and were done.

This is a description of the game: Budget first-person shooter, featuring Iraq’s ex-leader as the target of the player’s aggression. Armed with an arsenal of weapons and a coalation of comical characters, players fight their way through a variety of missions until they face the ultimate end boss: Saddam Hussein himself. In addition to public enemy #1 in the flesh, the game features plenty of Saddam posters, paintings and statues to shoot at. Marketed and sold over the web. Because of its subject matter, the low-tech shooter was promoted on FOX News, CNN, MSNBC, and TechTV and is the self-proclaimed “#1 game of the year”.( http://www.gamestats.com/objects/629/629545/ )

Reading the commentary on this game just makes me laugh people love it! That is what I call hypocrisy. I downloaded Night of Bush Capturing. It is pretty budget but fun to play none the less. That is probably because it is so controversial though :)

Beating Boredom

We were bored tonight so we decided to write a blog together. We could write about how Jared didn’t get ready in time when Elanas parents came to visit today :o

We are not sure what we should write about in a “blog” since we havn’t jumped on the blogging bandwagon yet. Elana wants to write about the boring stuff we do, “went to woolworths this morning…” Jared isn’t so sure…

So here are some photos :)

This is our friendly little cat his name is Yuki which means snow in Japanese.
