Wollongong Water

Why all of a sudden does tap water in Wollongong taste so bad? It tastes and smells like water that has been stagnant in a water bottle for weeks.

I thought maybe it was just me or just my plumbing but then I tried some from Wollongong city 5km’s away and it was grose too. A friend confirmed that they thought the same thing when they had a glass this morning. Pretty rank. BTW this is Wollongong in NSW Australia.
